Lloyd Thomas Sanders Sunday, September 1, 1929 - Thursday, March 9, 2017

Lloyd Thomas Sanders affectionately known as “Bootumup” was born September 1, 1929 to the parentage of Buck Sanders and Mary L. Vincent Sanders in Sikeston, Missouri, both parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by nine siblings. Lloyd was a farmer for many years and did some construction work. He sang in a quartet in his younger years. He moved from Missouri to Tennessee around 1956 where he continued farming and worked for Corafoam in Milan,Tennessee. Lloyd married the former Corine Arnold on October 21, 1950. She preceded him in death. From this union six children were born: DeLois, Charlene, Danny, David, Michael and Bruce. In 1979 he relocated to Kansas City, Kansas where he worked for the University of Kansas Medical Center until he retired due to his health in 1994. After retirement, he moved to Topeka to live with his son, Danny. He accepted Christ at an early age and was of Baptist faith. While a resident of Plaza West he attended church service every Sunday. Lloyd passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Plaza West Regional Health Center. He is survived by his six children, DeLois (Horace) Brown of Kansas City, Kansas, Charlene Wilson of Topeka, Kansas, Danny Sanders of Topeka, Kansas, David (Linda) Sanders of Dumas, Arkansas, Michael R. Sanders of Trenton, Tennessee and Bruce E. Sanders of Topeka, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Bowser-Johnson Funeral Chapel, 723 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral chapel.
